History
In 2014, ownership of Hamas Park was transferred to the park district. An OSLAD grant was awarded for the redevelopment of the park in 2015.
Park Redevelopment
The park was completely regraded and now has a new playground, shelter, parking lot, walking trails, landscaping, and site furnishings. In the spring of 2018, boat docks, a kayak launch, a new park sign and a memorial plaza were added.
