    Grades 3-12, join us for a 30-minute hitting or fielding lesson with Jeff Boyer! He played on the Augustana College Baseball Team from 2000-2004 and was a four-year Varsity Letterman. Boyer was voted both Defensive Player of the Year in 2003 and captain of 2004 Augustana College Baseball Team. In 2004, he was a 2nd Team All-Conference CCIW Baseball Player. After college, Boyer coached high school baseball for 10 years and was an assistant coach on the 2014 State Runner-Up Team.

  • T-Ball

    This instructional league for 5 & 6 year olds teaches the basic fundamentals of hitting, fielding and throwing in a non-competitive game environment. Practices are held once a week at the coach’s discretion and games will be played on Saturday mornings at the Byron Sports Complex starting 5/31. All players will receive a jersey and a medal. Volunteer coaches are always needed, so if you are interested please indicate it on your child’s registration form. Participants must sign up by May 2 to be guaranteed a spot in the program.

    Coach Pitch Baseball & Softball

    This instructional league for 7 & 8 year olds builds upon the basic hitting, fielding, and throwing fundamentals taught in t-ball. We offer a boys coach pitch baseball and a girl’s coach pitch softball season with games played in Byron and Oregon. Players will play multiple positions and learn the rules of the game. Games will start the week of May 26 and will be played on weekday evenings (typically Mondays and Wednesdays). Practices are held 1-2 times per week. To guarantee your child a spot in the program you must register no later than April 18.

  • In-House Baseball & Softball Leagues

    These competitive in-house leagues for 9-14 year olds continue to build upon fundamentals while playing both home and away games against teams from surrounding communities such as Pecatonica, Dixon, Oregon, Polo, and Stillman Valley. Players register as individuals and teams are formed through a draft process. There are no team/player requests allowed in these leagues. Volunteer coaches are needed! If you are interested in becoming a volunteer coach, contact our Recreation Supervisor Aydin Coffey at 815-234-6232 or acoffey@byronparks.org. To guarantee a spot in the program register no later than March 7!
